Clay Skills Workshop: Coil Building
Focus on the finer points of building using coils: rolling coils that will make good building-blocks, how to shape forms, and experiment with decorative effects. A basic understanding of handbuilding with clay is helpful, this is a technique-focused class - students can expect to manage how their clay is drying, be able to adjust their technique for potentially delicate work, and will experience working in stages that will best suit what the clay is doing. Attendees may keep one small creation, which will be glazed clear and ready for pickup roughly 3 weeks after the class. Included in each of these workshops: stay for drop-in studio that day (1-4:00) and hourly fees are waived, just pay for clay and firing (if desired).
