Clay Skills Workshop: Centering on the Wheel

Saturday, September 27, 2025
10:00 am1:00 pm
145 Central Ave
Whitefish, MT 59937
US

Confident/advanced beginner throwers
- Focus on methods of getting and keeping clay centered, and how to adjust for a pot that’s gone wobbly. We may also experiment with more advanced methods of bringing a pot back to center at various stages in the throwing process, depending on what individuals in the workshop are running into. A basic understanding of throwing is required - students will be expected to wedge their own clay, set-up/clean their wheels, and have a grasp of the basic steps of throwing on the wheel. There will be no finished objects at the end of this class - all clay will be recycled. Included in each of these workshops: stay for drop-in studio that day (1-4:00) and hourly fees are waived, just pay for clay and firing (if desired).
