Clay Skills Workshops: Trimming

Saturday, August 16, 2025
10:00 am1:00 pm
145 Central Ave
Whitefish, MT 59937
US

Leatherhard pots will be provided to practice this finicky clay skill! We’ll talk about how to know when a pot is ready to be trimmed, basic steps of trimming on and off the wheel, as well as what makes a nicely-trimmed foot. Students will not need to throw their own pots (though it is an option to prepare pieces ahead of time during our drop-in studio hours), but a general understanding of using the wheel is encouraged for focusing on that technique. Unless attendees prepare their own practice pieces, there will be no finished objects at the end of this class - any surviving pots will be fired as demo samples for our glaze classes.
